Course Description
The Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management encompasses the responsibilities of individuals serving as middle managers or managers within various community sector entities. These professionals operate autonomously and report directly to executive management, directors, or boards of management. They undertake diverse tasks that require the application of knowledge and skills to achieve organizational goals and strategic objectives.
At this advanced level, workers are entrusted with duties such as planning and overseeing service delivery, managing recruitment and performance evaluation of staff, mitigating risks, and contributing to ongoing enhancements within their specific roles. This could involve overseeing specific programs or projects, or assuming broader management responsibilities within community-based organizations, early childhood education services, non-profit entities, or community centers.

- Potential Learners will be individuals of all backgrounds, non-specific gender and all age groups
- Our partnered RTO has multiple campuses across Queensland and additional campuses in New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia + strong industry links, therefore students are likely to be existing workers who are in the position to commit to study and work and/or industry placement hours in a quest to secure higher level employment
- All students will be screened for course eligibility including LLN testing. Students from diverse backgrounds who may be identified as potentially experiencing LLN difficulties will be supported throughout their journey and/or referred to specialist LLN programs to up skill
Course Delivery

- Trainers/Assessors being available to support you through email and/or telephone contact.
- 13 units of competency
- Workplace logbook of at least 100 hours.
- The opportunity to attend weekly trainer-led study support sessions via Zoom for the duration of your course
Course Entry Requirements
The target learners and entry requirements for this course must:
- be over 18 years of age, and no longer attending secondary school
- undertake Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Skills Indicator assessment questionnaire
- ability to undertake vocational placement, which includes manual handling tasks
- have technological skills to undertake computer/online work and have access to a computer and software with the following minimum specifications
- Obtain security clearances*
- Adobe Acrobat Reader/Adobe Flash Player and up to date internet browser
*Security Clearances: Some qualifications require a security clearance (e.g., police check, valid blue card and/or yellow card) in order for the student to be eligible to undertake practical and/or vocational placement. Additionally, individual host organizations may have different requirements regarding vaccinations. Please discuss these with our Administration Team during the enrolment process and/or refer to the MySkill website for more information. Please note there are mandatory vaccination requirements within each state and it is up to the student to ensure they are complying with their own state, territory legislation and workplace organization policies and procedures.
